Date: May 28, 2021

On the afternoon of May 27, "Never Forget the Original Intention to Go with the Party “Southwest Jiaotong University celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and the chorus competition between teachers and students was successfully held in the college hall of Jiuli campus. The College of Humanities played an outstanding role in this competition and won the first prize of chorus and the best conductor award.

"Sing a folk song to the Party. I compare the Party with my mother." Only one line of lyrics, the voice was like a warbler out of the valley, which was crisp and tender. The little girl's solo named "Dedication" from teachers and students of primary school was the start of the chorus competition.

From "On Taihang Mountain" to "Sing a Folk Song to the Party", from "Tomorrow Will Be Better" to "Into the New Era", those classic songs reviewed the hardships and difficulties of the Party's development in the past 100 years, praised today's happy life, and were full of infinite hope and vision for the future. Each college expressed its love to the motherland and presented a gift for the Party's centenary birthday with carefully prepared songs.

“No matter when, no matter where, my love is reserved for you. No matter when, no matter where, my deep feeling is waiting for you.” The song was rich and melodious, the accompaniment was clear and ethereal, and the dance was like the shadow of a tree. Fresh and elegant were the descriptions of the song "My Deep Love is Waiting For You". The performance was conducted by Liu Feiyun, a teacher from the Music Performance Department of the College of Humanities. Wang Yanli was in charge of piano accompaniment and Zhao Sizhi was in charge of percussion accompaniment. The teachers and students who participated in the performance sacrificed their rest time, rehearsed assiduously and prepared carefully. They focused on polishing and rehearsing again and again. The success of the performance stemmed from their efforts and showed the heartfelt joy and congratulations of all the teachers and students of the College of Humanities on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

At the end of all the programs, six outstanding students from the College of Humanities led the audience to sing the school song of Southwest Jiaotong University and "Five-star red flag is flying in the wind" in the form of flash, which pushed the whole atmosphere to a climax.

The chorus competition held today is not only to celebrate the centennial of the Party, but also to encourage all the teachers and students of Southwest Jiaotong University to continue their efforts and create more brilliance in the coming days! The College of Humanities will not forget its original intention and work hard, just like “Carrying Forward and Fostering the Realistic Route of Chinese National Spirit!”
